Can I replace an assy w/o fog lights with an assy that includes fog lights. I'm wondering if the plugin to the assy will work OK?

I have read so many different comments on the c2 turbo kit for the rabbit. Some say it kicks ass and some say the engine can't handle a turbo and doesn't run very well. I was wondering if I could get a straight answer from possibly someone who has this setup? Thanks! :)
