I was working on my 73' super beetle, it would start and run "okay", so I changed out the spark plugs and plug wires. But now the engine won't crank over. Here's a video I made with what it's doing when I turn the key. Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated. Link :

My engine was cranking and would sometimes turn over and run. So I bought new plugs and wires and after installing them my engine now does a very rough crank like it's struggling bad and won't start. What could be causing it to do this? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi folks, In the process of putting a 1986 1.8ltr Mk 2 golf GTI into my '83 Scirocco. The fuel injection module from the original 1.6ltr doesn't have any wires coming from it, however the new module for the 1.8 has. Anyone able to tell me where this wire plugs into and/or if the motor I am...

Hi there, I've got a VR6 engine with AAA code, but know nothing about it. It was on my late dad's Golf Mk2, but no further info as he bought it as a project car and drove it home from an auction. He put another engine in, and never finished his project. And this one was stored in the best place...

I am currently stumped on a 2005 VW Touareg 3.2 engine code G where the p/s fuel pump loses power after approximately 30 seconds of running. Fuel pressure drops until vehicle dies. Starts right back up and fuel pump gets power again , but loses it after 30 seconds and the cycle repeats itself...

I have a super clean 1993 VW Cabrio that has a shifter problem. It starts and runs fine engine wise, but it is a manual and only goes into 1st gear. If I shift into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear, it goes into 1st gear. It will shift into neutral, but any gear I shift into, all I get is first. Any...

I ordered a PCV valve, supposedly for the 2.0L engine (for a 2004 New Beetle). It looks like a 3" diameter black plastic disc, about 1/2" thick, with two hose ports sticking out of it. I've scoured the engine and the web looking for any indication of where this thing lives but can't figure it...

I have a 2008 Rabbit, and it's been a great car. It has about 210K miles on it, so in no way is it perfect, but it's in pretty good shape. A few dents and dings, nothing major, the interior is ok, again not great, as the headliner has given up it's ability to stay up against the roof. The...

Hi, It shuts off at 180-190. If it's cold out and I keep the manual fan and don't let it get to those temps it runs and drives all day, but won't run or start warm. Needs to cool down at least a few minutes before going again. It has new coolant temp sensor, and manual fan( the other ones...
  20. Classic VW Beetle / Bug Forum
Hi, I don't yet own a classic VW... I have two NewBeetles. But that's irrelevant. My question is, I want to buy a beetle to build into a trail buggy that remains street legal and sensible. So I plan to use fairly narrow but taller tires, disk brakes, upgraded shock absorbers, Xenon headlights +...
