The auto-dimming mirror has died. The mirror base is equipped with the rain sensor for the automatic wipers. Can I install a regular manually switched OE mirror or is the base different from the auto-dimming version?

The wipers on my 2017 Alltrack cannot be pulled away from the windshield unless they are stopped in mid-stroke. This makes it a real nuisance to try to scrape snow and ice from the windshield. The engineer that designed this needs to find a new profession.
