Hey briano1234, Thanks for your response to the non working fuel and temperature gauges. I was about to give up until I read your post about replacing the resistor. I am going to try that.

On my 1982 Rabbit truck I have to rev it at startup to bypass the exciter wire. Which wire is the exiter? On the back of the alternator there is a 3 prong plug, then also another plug that is marked "W". Im tired of the revving and sometimes when I turn off the headlights the batt light comes on, annoying..........

I am also working on a diesel swap into a gas cabriolet. The cabriolet is an 87 and has an auto transmission, I would like to keep the auto transmission but all the advice I have gotten is to put in a 5 speed manual because of the gasser gear ratios. What are your thoughts?
