2007 golf no hot air

Hi I've got a 2007 golf I can't get any warm or hot air though the vents I've took the glove box out and removed the recirculator motor it won't open the vent at the side when in place but once I removed it the motor then works but judders .even after opening the big vent with the green deal round it manually there's still only cold air coming through .does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong ? Thanks
