When I bought the car, it came with 2 key fobs. I have used only 1 since buying the car 6 years ago. With this fob, a single press of the unlock button opened ALL the locks. Also, the doors did not automatically lock when the car began moving.

Recently the unlock button stopped functioning. As a result, I switched to the 2nd fob. Now to unlock all doors (including tailgate) requires 2 presses of the unlock button and the doors lock when the car starts moving.

How can I reprogram this 2nd fob to operate like the original?

Thank you in advance.

Hi robt. just a suggestion. But try going to settings on the dash then convenience then reset to factory settings. not sure if this will help but wont hurt to try.

Has nothing to do with the FOBs, it's the settings in the CECM.

Mine has always been, one press unlocks the driver door, second unlocks
all the doors. I can use VCDS to change that, but I like it the way it is.

Every VW I owned, and other cars, the locks would lock automatically
when moving.

Another settable option in VCDS.
