For sale
1981
Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel 105k miles. Two door, 4 speed. Body is in good shape, one rust spot underneath hatch back window, white paint has faded. Headliner is gone. Interior is decent.
-New remanufactured injector pump
-new hard lines from IP to in injectors
-4 new injectors
-4 new heat shields
-new glow plugs
-new timing belt
-4 new shocks
-new muffler
-new tie rods
- new controls arms and spindle
-4 New tires
- New bushings shifter assembly-
4 new motor mounts
- Vince Walden’s How to pimp my glow plug” relay starting amperage booster
Vehicle was running great before injector pump change. Lots of power (for a rabbit) even up hills) Changed IP due to a fuel leak at the cold start cable and have not been able to get it back to were it was. Vehicle always was a little sluggish starting up which leads me to believe there is low compression.
Although Vehicle runs and drives it needs some work, possible head rebuild. Smokes too much, low power. Needs new alternator
Injectors pop test around 300 each.
If I had more time and a shop space I would take on that rebuild project.
I hate to sell it. Would be first time I didn’t own a rabbit in over 10 years.
