I am having an issue with my jetta not starting. The battery light is on but my battery is 100% good, I also replaced the starter. I can jump the starter and the car starts. All relays under the dash are work and all fuses are good. Also for some reason i can not open my trunk since this problem has occured. All other looks are functional and all dash lights come on. its the 2.0l auto l4. Please help im lost for words on whats going on

Have you checked the key switch it could be that it messed up

I grew up with A/T vw's and another possibility to consider is to "wiggle" the gearshift. The car won't start if it isn't registering that it's in "P" (park) properly. Sometimes the switch just needs some TLC. Hope you get it sorted.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO UNLOCK THE TRUNK FROM THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON THE DASH IF YOU PUSH IT TWICE. ALSO ON MY 96 JETTA IF SO MUCH AS TOUCH THE KEY WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING SHE WILL SHUT OFF

ON YOUR STARTING PROM. CHECK IF THE BENDIX GEAR IS WORKING, THIS GEAR HOOKS UP TO THE FLY WHEEL WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY TO SPIN THE MOTOR
