You can lock the doors with the car and A/C running by manually locking them with the spare key. This is how I warm mine up on winter mornings and keep it from getting stolen from the driveway.

Dear VW,
We are new 2019 Jetta SEL owners. By "we", that includes our 7 lb pooch.
There are times we go places that are not dog-friendly. This Jetta is the only car we have ever owned that we cannot leave the pup in the car with the engine and AC running with the doors locked.
We would love to he able to leave the engine and AC running and lock the doors so we can go into a restaurant and not worry about the pup or the car being stolen.
