I have a 2006 Jetta TDI which as gotten 40 to 43 mpg until a repair at my dealer. An 'intake manifold runner control motor was faulty and replaced.
Since this replacement, I now get 34 to 36 mpg. Mechanic states no relationship.

Question: Why the drop in mileage? This drop has been consistent since this repair....correlation or causation?

Any ideas?

They beat the bawls off it at the dealer and sucked down your fuel causing the average for that tank to drop. Reset all the computers and whatever and fill up. also, cold weather affects it.
