Hello, I'm trying to buy this 2014 Beetle one from my friend, he hit an animal and the front end is damaged.
Is there any chance you could get me an estimate from the pics.
I believe it is 2.0 R-Line, since it doesn't have racing stripes and he mentioned it is a 2 liter.
Also, currently it has 27k miles on it. Will the factory warranty still valid?

I believe, I would need new fender, headlight unit, and a bumper. What will be the estimated cost for the fix? Can it be a DIY, with not prior experience, other than oil changes on my own? Sorry for the weird question.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, forum rules:
To be able to post links or images your post count must be greater. You currently have 2 posts.

Please remove links from your message, then you will be able to submit your post.

What should be the count anyway? I see my count is only 2, but what is the forum expecting?
Thanks.

I had front end damge to my '13 TDI three times, fixed it all myself.

I got all the parts I needed from ebay.

Go here:
Without Turbo - http://www.keffervwparts.com/a/Volkswagen_2014_Beetle/_51505_6224548/FRONT-BUMPER--GRILLE-BUMPER--COMPONENTS/9212005.html

Get the part numbers you need, and then search eBay on the part numbers, and
get them cheaper.

Or go here, pick your engine and trim to refine:

Thank you for the reply. I'll have to look at the car myself, in person and may take it to the mechanic, just to get an estimate then.
If the total parts costs me less than a grand or two, what can be the price of this vehicle, at 25k miles on it?

An estimate would probably come back with $6300.00-$7000 in damages.

You need a lot of stuff there, BUT, will be under $1000.00 if you
do it yourself. My last estimate was 4300, but wasn't even as
bad as that. I got the parts for under $600, but you need slightly
more. I did not need a bumper cover or support & brace, you do. I did
need a driver side headlamp, fender, fender bracket, bumper cover support
brace, upper grille, driver side cross support, hood cable retainer, hood
and driver side hood hinge.

You need all those parts I listed, PLUS a bumper cover, the foam behind it, and
the metal bumper bracket, not sure what else. If no damage was done to the
front "horns" they call them, those big metal plates on each side you see with
the four bolts on them, you can do the work yourself.

IF the damages are anywhere form 50%-80% of what the car is worth, they'd total it.
Not knowing what R-line it is, can't really be sure on value, but based on a black 2.0
Turbo PZEV:
Trade-In - Private Party - Dealer Retail
$12,429 - $14,537 - $16,407

$7000 in damages would be 50% of the Private Party resale, which is
what they would use. That might even be enough to total it...

Also, when this extensive work is done through an insurance company, it becomes an
"R" titled vehicle. I have seen them "R" title a car for replacing a fender... Usually,
when any metal is involved, they "R" title it.
