Hey... so the immobilizer light is flashing on my dashboard and neither key works. The engine won't turn over, no clicking... nothing. The check engine, battery and immobilizer lights are lit up on my dashboard and won't come off even with the key out and killed my battery. Replaced the battery just now and still same problem. I think it might be a bad connection or the starter. Please help with any advise. Thank you guys.

Since you did not mention what YEAR Golf, it's off the the good old
guessing game. I can't believe people still post and don't tell
anyone what they have... Golf, sure, MKwhat?

Replacing the battery on the FOB doesn't make any difference unless it's
push-button start. The immo chip in the key is powered inductively
at the ignition switch, amazed to this day people still don't know this,
it's been around for 15+ years... If you were able to unlock the
door with your FOB, then the battery is fine anyway, and that's
all the battery is for, with the exception of push-button start...

You may as well look here, because I am not going to guess and guess without
knowing what model and year you have...

It's a 2000 golf 2.0... the lights on the dash would not go of and killed my battery but it was old to start with so i needed to buy a new one anyways. No it's not push start and the key will open the driver door but will not electronically unlock my car. Even though the electronic immobilizer is flashing... that is not the issue. Before i take it to a mechanic I thought I'd come here first. Thanks for your input!

Was talking about the battery in the KeyFob... You were so
vague, I was guessing, so this is why confusion ensues, with
wrong answers.

Use the link, that's the best I can do for IMMO stuff.
