I got a 2008 R32 last year and just before inspection this year got the engine light that must be fixed to achieve an inspection sticker. My mechanic doesn’t know what to fix. The codes are these
Codes: ( from notes taken while on the phone with mechanic)
  1. Lean bank #1and #2 PO 171 and 174
  2. Leak in air intake P 2279
  3. Idle higher than expected PO 507
  4. Cold start air control malfunction
  5. Random misfire on all cylinders
Mechanic checked the air filter and filled something with smoke and pressurized but couldn’t see any vacuum leaks.
The only performance variable is the tach bounces at idle from 6 to15,000 RPMs usually after it warms up. MPG hasn’t changed and it still goes like a bat out of hell. Although it doesnt sound right at idle.
Love driving this car but can’t afford to just start changing parts willy-nilly. Any advice? Gratefully yours, Jim

Not sure if your car got fixed or not?

Sound like a engine valve cover diaphragm leak. You may need to change the whole valve cover.
