Hello,

I own 08 VW EOS, recently the car is acting weird, the passenger side rear window is working the opposite the other three ones ( the window comes down when the other three go up). I think this is known with VW when battery replaced or died and it is called Window Out of Sync.

I read a lot here and other places, but has not found yet a solution.

I checked with dealer, they want me to take my car in for $125 diagnostic and then they will let me know how much it cost to re-program it.

This is a ridiculous situation since its happening with VW and they should not be charging !

Please let me know if you ever experienced this AND has solution for it.

Thanks,

This is common with the EOS, and the fix usually is:
Disconnect the battery.
Wind the windows up one at a time.
When up, Pull and hold the switch to set the limiter.

This has been discussed here many, Many, MANY times...

Could you please be more specific specially when you said ( Disconnect the battery . Wind the window up one at a time)? how can I wind the window up if the battery is disconnected?

Also, I tried to wind the window up one at a time when the battery is connected, but still the same . Rear passenger window works the opposite, when I try to wind it up with the key, the glass goes down, and when I press the key down, the glass goes up.

Only rear passenger glass is working this way.

Thanks for your time and I really appriciate your input and suggestions.

Disconnect, wait 10 seconds, reconnect battery...
2013Tdi,
Tried disconnect, tried reset ECU via OBII, trid the key on the door and even the keys on the driver door master control.

its same, three windows down, one rear passenger down!

I cannot open the roof bc of this stupid thing! The dashboard shows back doors open even the car does not have back door.

Doesn't the rear window have its own button? Even if it's reverse of
the other windows, you can't even use the separate switch to wind it
up, even if it's pressing down? I think you need to start with ALL the
windows up.

You can't reset the ECU with the OBDII connection, you need VCDS for that.
All you can do it reset DTCs, and this issue will not set any DTCs.

I read this too:
Unhook the battery. Touch both cables together and hold for a minute.
Open the driver door, put key in and at the on position, then hook up positive
cable first and then the negative cable.

If the only thing you can do to fix it is VCDS, then you'll need to get it. If it's
cheaper than going to the dealer, then that's what you have to do. The
CECM can be coded again for no rear doors, and fix the window issue.

Since this was 2 years ago, I'd assume you figured it out.
But, for anyone else reading this, the fix is a Capacitive Reset.
  1. Disconnect the battery cables
  2. Hold + and - cable ends together for at least 10 seconds
  3. Reconnect the battery
This will erase all the screwed up stuff in the brain and start fresh.
It's effectively the same as a hard reboot on your PC.

Not worked like you said for me.
Anyone have an idea what to do?
Rear passenger window is doing the reverse operation and it says that the rear doors are open.
Thank you
