Hi, I don't yet own a classic VW... I have two NewBeetles. But that's irrelevant.
My question is, I want to buy a beetle to build into a trail buggy that remains street legal and sensible. So I plan to use fairly narrow but taller tires, disk brakes, upgraded shock absorbers, Xenon headlights + LED auxiliary lights, etc.
One of the things I want is to keep the engine hood. I don't want a Baja style exposed motor. Mainly because I live in the north and snow is an issue. But also because I know that the airflow through the engine bay is best when the engine bay is in tact and sealed.
I plan to use a 1835cc built motor with dual carbs and performance exhaust.
My question is, does anyone know of aftermarket exhaust for larger displacement engines that still has functioning heater pipes?
Or am I better off having my exhaust built custom to include heater pipes?
Thanks.
