I’ve got an 1984 Rabbit convertible, 1.8L, with the small donut spare and the two fuel pumps; so the late 84 model, 5 speed transmission. I’ve had it for a long time now, and have never checked the level of the transmission lubricant. Recently it seems like the transmission has been making a little more noise than normal. Do you have any idea how I would go about checking the level and topping it off, and what kind of lubricant to use?
