I've got a 2013 Passat TDI with 97,000 miles. I brought it in to the mechanic because of a coolant leak. They told me it was the water pump and obviously it would be a good idea to do the timing belt at the the same time.
I guess when they were taking it for a test drive the new timing belt broke/came off. So of course they're giving me a complementary valve job.
My question is will my engine ever be the same? I should be picking up my car next week and the mechanic as already insured me that he will warranty any issues in the near future but I had planned on keeping this car for a long time as my commuter.
I've had a couple buddies at work tell me to go trade it in as soon as I get it back because it'll have nothing but problems.
What do you think?
