I'm 6'5" (195cm), not skinny and with teenagers. With the drivers seat all the way back and all the way down will someone be able to sit behind me?

There's a 2010 Passat mk6 I want to go and look at but:
  1. It's a 3 hour round trip away and
  2. No dealer near here has a mk6
Should I go and look at it? Or is the Passat similar to the golf in lack of rear legroom

Passat is slightly longer than a Jetta, which is the same platform for
the golf of the same year for MK6s. Golf is now MK7.

Passat is not MK6, it's B6, a modified version of the Mk5 Golf's PQ46 platform.

Look up the specs for leg room...

Yea.. I did, but specs are irrelevant when you're talking seat all the way back and down. Rear legroom specs are very odd and the definition of the "h" point they are taken from varies not just from manufacturer to manufacturer, but car to car.

For example there's supposed to be enough space behind me in an insignia but in reality - only if your legs are an inch thick....

The seat can only go back so far, they take this into account that someone
is sitting behind you no matter how far back you have your front seat. You
can push your seat all the way back, and you can see how much room is left
for their feet. The problem is your reclining the seat-back, too far, well, then
you are in the passenger's knee-room area. Didn't matter WHERE my seat
was, the kids were always kicking and kneeing into the back of it.. Kids....

Best thing to do, get in one, have one sit behind you, and slowly push the seat
back, then recline. If you hear "Ahh! My feet, Dad!!!" or "Ahh, my legs! Dad!!!"
Well, then that ain't gonna work.

I had a Van, and used that when taking the kids somewhere, never my cars. All
they do is leave garbage lying around, so, rather it be in the van, THEY can clean
and not my nice car. I had a 2000 Avengers ES, back seat was pristine! Only saw
a$$ three or four times in it's nine years of use, kinds NEVER sat in it. I had my
Ford Van for the rug-rats, or another POS car, not my nice cars...
