replacing aftermarket headlights

I bought a used 07 Rabbit and it has some aftermarket, xenon headlights that are giving me trouble...

1) Occasionally they actually just decide not to turn on at all. Like both sides. Seems random, but I can turn the ignition off and wait a while then start the car again and they'll work fine. Wacky.

2) Got trouble code 00978 on both headlights (cleared with obdeleven, but not trusting that will stick).

They have an obvious bolted-on ballast and canbus canceler. I think it's more trouble than it's worth, so I ordered something new to try...halogens with LED DRLs (and halos).

I saw an old post about someone wiring something similar and programming via VCDS...I didn't want to resurrect a 6yr old thread, so I thought I'd post here.

Does anyone have the headlight connector pin-out/diagram handy? And obviously, if there's any options I should try to program the DRLs and the halos, could you please point me to some settings/codes to try?

If there's more info needed to be helpful, please don't hesitate to ask. I wasn't sure what details were needed.
