next the battery clamp, the threaded stud on the old is replicated on the new panel.

here it is wire brushed off and sprayed with rust treatment liquid from an old perfume atomiser given over to me by my wife Jane.

the plate forward of the cross member is shot, rusted out full of holes, so that will be renewed.

the lip is left when you cut off the old pan, the spot welded scrap is chiseled off to let the new pan get spot welded on. Here's the new panel offered up for test fit.

the rust holed scrap floor, I always have a good look over the old, you can pick up plenty of information about how to fit the new.

grinding off the rear inner floor bracket, this is a strong full length weld.

the edge of the floor where it welds to the tunnel flange has to be chiselled off, the best tool would be a air powered chisel, I just have a cold chisel.

you need to pull up some old songs by these guys, will make that chiseling go faster, lol

drilling the holes to take the spot welds. 4.5mm first then to 8mm. Wide enough to take the weld.
