I am going home to remove the generator from my Beetle 1600... what size socket do I need for the nut at the back that holds the fan on?
Thanks

Should be a 21 mm, there is slot on the generator pulley that allows you to use a wide screwdriver to hold the shaft while you loosen the fan nut

The nut on the front of the generator that holds on the fan is 36mm, same as the nut for the stock flywheel. In a pinch a 1 7/16" six point socket will also work.
