My Tiguan 2010 TSI is only a year old, and i had to go to my dealer to top up my engine oil every 2,500km~3000km. after they have done 1st year service and oil consumption test, they said the car is normal because it did not use more than 100mL in 1000km.

this topping up oil every time is giving me a massive headache, is this normal for Tiguan with new engine?

Please let me know,

Thanks guys

Turbo engines burn through oil. That's the nature of the beast.

How much was the oil consumption?

100ml is .1 quarts. 1 quart in 10,000km. Some of these engines use more oil than others. 4.3 liter oil capacity. Are you doing 16,000km changes?

:W: to the forum swk8834. I haven't checked mine in about a month. I have had the Tig 9 months and the oil level has been rock solid thru 15,000km. I have never had to add any oil during this time. This was not the case tho when I had my 2007 Audi A4 2.0T. I was pretty much putting in about a litre of oil every 8,000km.
