Hi, I've recently got my baby back on the road after 2 years. In the past I made the mistake of using rad weld.
Anyway, I had new cambelt/water pump and this seems to have caused issues. I found a mechanic who flushed the system (after VW dealer "flushed it ". There has been a lot of sludge come out but now I've had overheating. The two pipes at the front by the rad don't get hot, the one by battery does. The mechanic said something about the rad. He has done half a job and now has depression. What am I meant to do or say?

It now seems another mechanic thinks it could be a cracked block. There is a hot pressured pipe by the battery but bottom pipe by rad stays cold. I've added premix to water. Don't seem to lose water but don't go far in it.
Had it warm for mechanic with expansion tank lid off. He suggested steel seal. Would this help? Is it worth trying?
