Hey everyone, I recently bought a 1967 VW bug and I can’t find videos or forums anywhere explaining how to wire up the fuel sending unit to the speedometer, it’s a Baja so most of the wiring has been stripped but I need my fuel gauge to work…please help

The 67 bug did not have a gas gauge in the speedo it had one to the right of the speedo. You will need to look up a later model of VW to get the wiring for a gas gauge in the speedo.

I have a later gauge in my 67 and this is how it is wired:
A wire (usually yellow) is run from the gas sender to the terminal (5) on the back of the gas gauge at the top of the speedo.
Ignition power is run to the gauge voltage regulator (sometimes called Vibrator or voltage stabilizer) plus (+) terminal.
The regulator is normally attached to the top of the speedo and the output of it is plugged directly to the gas gauge power terminal. There is nothing else to hook up.
If the speedo is missing the gauge voltage regulator, you will need to get one (or a more modern regulator). Connecting 12V power to the gauge directly will burn out the gauge. It is designed to only handle about 5.4V (the effective output of the gauge voltage regulator).

Look for a 69 or later wiring diagram for more info, or do a search for 69 VW beetle speedo wiring and look at the images.
