mine came right off, i guess they didn't really "press" it on, just placed it there, so i lucked out. before you get really high tech, see if you can just easily peel it off.

 

My dealer has a policy of not removing their emblems. However, my salesman told my that their logo was held on by a piece of thin foam tape and that it could be gently pulled off. I removed it today with no problems. I took a piece of junk mail that was printed on card stock, folded it in half and gently pushed it under the dealer logo. I very slowly and gently pulled the dealer logo up. I was able to place my finger underneath it and slowly lifted it up. It came off, but the tape stayed on the car. It came off quickly with gentle rubbing with my fingers. There were no scratches or tape/glue marks.

What dealer did you get your from? We got ours at Tyan's in Denver


To remove the sticker, if its stubborn get the hairdryer out and warm it up and peel it off. if here is residue use a little goo-gone. if you don't next time you drive were it's dusty you will see the glue hold the dust.

Osborn automotive. Overall, it was a good sales experience. My only glitch was that they wouldn't remove the dealer advert--pretty minor.

 

FYI: my wife's crafting heat gun worked great! I kept my fingers next to the paint to ensure I wasn't overheating it. The logo had the consistency of electrical tape and left a lot of goo... but a 15% isopropyl alcohol solution cleaned it right up.

 

sticker or another badge? if it's a badge, floss in sub zero temperatures work best. the "goo" comes right off with a little finger rub (no nails).

i try not to use goo gone. i like 3m adhesive remover.

It was a sticker from the dealership right below the badge.

 

haha I remember when I used to have a lexus, the tag that came when we bought it was spinelli, then when we serviced it at a closer dealership, they re-tagged the car to gabriel.... real players...

 

I've tried heating my sticker up...then scraping it. At this time the emblems were already coming off but the sticker wouldn't come off at all. Any ideas? "Suntrup" dealer in St.Louis,

 

Interesting, when I got my car the dealer advert was there and so I asked the salesman that sold it to me if they could remove it, and sure enough, It was gone before I took it off the lot.

 

my rabbit didnt come with a sticker on it, they use licence plate frames ( J Bertolet Orwigsburg PA. )

 

i waited until it was colder out and then used my fingernail to peel them off. most of the sticky stuff came off. and i got the rest of the residue off by spraying some wd-40 onto a rag and rubbing lightly.... there is no evidence that there was ever a sticker there

 

This whole situation pisses me off. I can't stand when they throw stickers on the car. They dont pay me or take money off the price of the car to display free advertisement. I always make it a point when I get the call that the car will be ready for pick up on whatever day, to mention not to place anything on the car when they are prepping it!

Its always best to take them off as soon as you bring the new car home and not to let them sit....but leaving them in the sun or heating them up works best and work it off with your nail.

The Rabbit and 2.5 logo come off real clean with fishing line and whatever glue is left can be rubbed off with your finger then throw a quick dab of wax on the area. It looks soooo sweet and clean with the logos off.

Not to disrespect the Rabbit in any way, I reappplied 3M tape to the back and have it on my dashboard to the left of the climate controls!

 

I just used my finger nail, and the massive rain storm as lube (tee hee) to get mine off. Chapman VW just used some stick letters though... It took 5 minutes, as every letter was stuck on individually.

I went to pick up the car for delivery, and they had just put it on- I said to my salesman..." what is that?... can you take that off?" -- he laughed and done and done. It wasnt even straight , come on now!!

Dealer plates are one thing, but a damn sticker is just gross. Some dealrs even use heavy duty plastic emblems! Just horrible....
