it's normal that it's not shown on the manual. it's just because we dont have those appropriate features described on it

 

No, there's voodoo regarding my fuse box

Thanks to everybody who has chipped in, but the task of getting a diagram matching my fusebox may take some legwork.

One thing that does not explain the difference between my box & the manual is variety in features (options) on my car. If it were, I'd just have empty spaces where things like a sunroof (which I don't have) and seat heaters (ditto) and headlight washers (ditto) and foglamps (ditto) are fused.

To give you some idea, I know my car has ABS, but the spaces in the fusebox that supposedly pertain to ABS are empty. If you pull the fuse that supposedly applies to the horn, the horn will still blow. These are just the examples off the top of my head.

The diagrams the Aggie uploaded are very nice (I'd love to have some like those that match my car) but even the arrangement of the slots is very different on my car.

Also, the service manager (or whatever they call those guys now) at the dealership kind of surprised me, in that:

1. He seemed shocked that the manual might not match the car, and

2. He couldn't offer any explanation or documentation applying to my car, and

3. When I asked about buying a shop manual, he said you can't get those for any car made (as if they were trade secrets).

Now, I guess I could use a tester to see which of the empty slots are hot (hopefully none) and then start pulling fuses one by one to see what won't work. . .but the latter doesn't appeal to me at all, because electrical stuff is kind of perverse anyhow, and if something is working I don't want to mess with it.

There HAS to be documentation somewhere that shows what the fuses are for. Those guys on the assembly line don't just make it up on the fly.

 

I have all information you need. I cannot copy/paste info as my job is on the line. but we can work something out. hit me up on aim and send me your vin so I can get you the most correct information. Fuse diagrams I believe everyone should have. If the manal is incorrect, ill give yout he corrrect layout without posting sensitive information and without violating my terms of contract with vw.

You might also check the underside of the (in engine) fuse box cover for the corresponding fuse info. It's easy to miss, but i found it to be accurate,
