Thanks, I did look into the Mz3 trip computer hack - the one on the web doesn't work for the 08/08.5 models.

I bought the '08 Rabbit, four doors, white, with the DSG. Since I suspect "WHYTRBT" is long since taken, I'm now contemplating other Lewis Carroll references that can be expressed in seven letters for my personalized license plate.

 

the Rabbit doesn't have DSG. only auto-manual trans, which it's a Japanese unit.

 

Yes, thanks, I just learned the basic Rabbit uses the normal O9G auto transmission.

 

I read something about the paint on the Mazda 3

I think I can talk about that,

it does chip off rather easily (really sleepy+really small garage=bad) , funny thing is I think they expected it to be like that, just a month before, the Mazda dealer sent a a paint retouching thing , for little scratches which is what happened .


both cars are still working well, and really out of all the rabbit vs ____ here, this is actually pretty close

both the Mz3 and Rabbit are running fine for us , no problems with either one

and I think the air conditioner thing is correct, it does take longer to get cold in the 3

themost noticable difference IMO, is the feel when your drive

the Mz3 feels lighter but has less power
while the Rabbit feels heavier and has more power

same can be said about their gas pedals

 

Hey everyone i just picked up my Rabbit yesterday. I just made my last payment on my 04 mazda3 5 spd 2.3L last week. I Was not really looking to buy a new car...Then...i was driving past a VW dealer and i saw the Rabbit i pulled a U turn and checked it out. Next thing you know i was test driving it. i fell in love with this car. i was amazed by the power of this little bunny and the growl you hear when you step on it. So after getting him down to 16,100 i said....Ill take her!!

 

hey tibbar. tell your friends at the mazda forum that "the new rabbits have 175 hp 177 tq and that the handling is as good as a rabbits. " i've driven a mazda 3 and both you and i know the rabbit will take it in drag and road racing.
