Hello,
I've been looking at the Honda Civic Si and the GTI and after driving the GTI yesterday I'm certain that the GTI is the car I'd rather have (although they're both nice). However, my only hesitation is Volkswagen's reputation for poor reliability. All data I've seen indicates that through 2004 VW reliability has been poor and I've read enough posts online from 2006 GTI buyers who claim that their GTI had to be towed to the dealer multiple times in the 1st few months and even return the car under the lemon law that I'm now afraid to buy one.
Of course the dealer says that VW is now taking reliability seriously and that the kinks have been worked out in the 2007 cars, but I'm curious what owners of the 2007 GTI in the club think about this.
Thanks for any input - I'd love to hear something that makes me comfortable enough to buy a GTI!
