1980 Rabbit, 1.6, gas, CIS:
Car runs fairly well but has vacuum leak problem. All hoses are new and fine but noticed that # 1 and # 3 injectors are loose enough that they can easily be moved side-to-side with 1 finger -- so presume they're leaking.

Is it possible to replace the injector seals without removing the injectors from their fuel lines? If so, how? I'm hesitant to disturb the 30+ year old fuel lines since a leak there would be much more serious.

Thanks.

Yes I have heard of it being done.....
There is also the Sharpie trick....
Cut the pointy end off a sharpie, and insert it over the end of the injector, and then using the large blunt end of the sharpie to ease the insertion. the last set of o-rings that i bought at napa, came with a "sharpie like" plastic insertion tip in the kit.
